Manual handling operations are defined as:

'any transporting or supporting of a load (including the lifting, putting down, pushing, pulling, carrying or moving thereof) by hand or bodily force.'

Needle Stick Policy

Gloves should always be worn whenever there is the possibility of needlestick injury. The use of gloves (particularly latex gloves) reduces the inoculum in the event of a needlestick injury. A sharps box should be carried at all times.
